{"id":475897,"date":"2021-06-12T15:31:31","date_gmt":"2021-06-12T22:31:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=475897"},"modified":"2021-06-12T15:31:31","modified_gmt":"2021-06-12T22:31:31","slug":"stephanie-juncker-chris-lindauer-elevated-to-associate-head-coaches-at-louisville","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/stephanie-juncker-chris-lindauer-elevated-to-associate-head-coaches-at-louisville\/","title":{"rendered":"Stephanie Juncker,\u00a0Chris Lindauer Elevated to Associate Head Coaches at Louisville"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Louisville swimming and diving program has promoted\u00a0<strong>Stephanie Juncker\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Chris Lindauer\u00a0<\/strong>to associate head coaches,\u00a0as <a href=\"https:\/\/gocards.com\/news\/2021\/6\/12\/swimming-diving-juncker-and-lindauer-elevated-to-associate-head-coaches.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">announced<\/a> by the school today.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When the opportunity to reorganize our coaching staff presented itself, my clear vision was to promote Stephanie and Chris to associate head coaches,&#8221; said Louisville head coach <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/how-arthur-albiero-led-louisville-to-its-first-acc-mens-swimming-diving-title\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Arthur Albiero<\/strong><\/a>. &#8220;I feel strongly that I just hired two of the very best coaches in the country.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Both coaches come with impressive credentials outside their success at UofL. <a href=\"https:\/\/gocards.com\/sports\/swimming-and-diving\/roster\/coaches\/stephanie-juncker\/2072\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Juncker<\/a> served as a Short Course World Championships Team USA assistant aoach in 2018 as well as a U.S. National Team coach from 2017-20, in addition to a U.S. Junior National Team coach in 2016.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gocards.com\/sports\/swimming-and-diving\/roster\/coaches\/chris-lindauer\/2074\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lindauer<\/a> served as a U.S. National Team Coach in 2019 and 2020 and was a U.S. Junior National Team coach in 2014 and 2017.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The quality of their work is well documented through our team growth and consistent levels of high-level performance at the collegiate and national level,&#8221; continued Albiero. &#8220;That combined with their experience and loyalty to UofL makes both Stephanie and Chris a perfect fit for these positions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Since joining the staff at the start of the 2014-15 season, Juncker has been a part of two NCAA title-winning performances, 47 individual All-American swims, 29 All-American relays, 21 individual ACC gold medal swims, 11 ACC gold medal relay swims, and an ACC Championship on the men&#8217;s side,.<\/p>\n<p>On the women&#8217;s side, she has helped coach eight individual NCAA Championship victories, 43 All-American individual swims, 29 All-American relay performances, and a program-high fourth place in the team standings at NCAAs in 2019. She has helped coach 25 ACC individual gold medal swims as well as three ACC relay champions.<\/p>\n<p>Lindauer, who joined the staff in 2009, has had a hand in six NCAA Championships with the men&#8217;s program. At the men&#8217;s meet, he has helped coach 45 All-American relay performances and 74 All-American individual swims, all while helping the Cardinals move from\u00a0 T-21<sup>st<\/sup> his first year to fifth in 2021. On the women&#8217;s side, he has helped coach eight NCAA champions and coached UofL to 56 individual All-American performances along with 31 All-American relay swims.<\/p>\n<p>Since Louisville joined the ACC, Lindauer has coached the men to 11 ACC gold medals in relays, 21 individual ACC gold medals, and an ACC Championship. He has been a part of 25 ACC individual gold medal swims and three ACC relay wins with the women.<\/p>\n<p>Juncker and Lindauer are both graduates of UofL and had standout careers with the Cardinals.<\/p>\n<p>The 2020-21 season was a historic one for the Cardinals, as they <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/acc-mens-championships-day-4-finals-louisville-grabs-title-by-two-points-over-nc-state\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">won<\/a> their first-ever men&#8217;s ACC Championship title in dramatic fashion.
