NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Deltaville, Va. native and Junior National qualifier Bryce Rouzie<\/strong> has decided to remain in-state for his college career after verbally committing to the College of William and Mary for the fall of 2022.<\/p>\n

After originally planning to cut<\/a> the program at the end of last season, the administration decided to reinstate<\/a> the team in March.<\/p>\n

He told Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and swimming career at The College of William and Mary. Thank you to my coaches, parents and friends that have supported me along the way. Go Tribe!\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A talented backstroker and IMer, Rouzie does his club swimming with Coast Guard Blue Dolphins and placed 10th in the 200m back at Richmond Sectionals last month after earning bronze in the 400m IM at the ISCA International Senior Cup in March.<\/p>\n

  • 100 back – 51.95<\/li>\n
  • 200 back – 1:51.71<\/li>\n
  • 200 IM – 1:55.40<\/li>\n
  • 400 IM – 4:04.97<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    A rising senior at Hampton Roads Academy, Rouzie is a five-time individual VISAA State Championship finalist. He placed fifth in the 100 back and 11th in the 200 IM as a junior while taking seventh in the 500 free and 10th in the 100 back during his sophomore season.<\/p>\n

    The Tribe finished fourth in the team standings at the 2021 Colonial Athletic Association Championships.<\/p>\n
