I want to thank my family, my coaching staff at the Lakota Family YMCA, and my friends who have all given me endless support and helped me become who I am today!! Can&#8217;t wait to be a part of this incredible team! Go Flames!!&#8221;<\/b><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A talented distance freestyler, Gomez does her club swimming with the Lakota Family YMCA and earned 100% best times at Elkhart Sectionals in March where she collected gold in the 1500m free, silver in the 800m free, and bronze in the 400m free. She was also the runner-up in the mile at the 18&amp;U Winter Championships in December.<\/p>\n<p>In August 2019, Gomez recorded five top-10 finishes at the YMCA Long Course Championships, with her highest finish being a third-place showing in the 800m free.<\/p>\n<p>Her best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>500 free &#8211; 4:54.68<\/li>\n<li>1000 free &#8211; 10:24.08<\/li>\n<li>1650 free &#8211; 16:53.69<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A rising senior at Lakota East High School, Gomez is a three-time Ohio State Championship finalist.
