Meanwhile, her younger sister will also be in action after putting together a superb performance during the Wave I competition on Monday night.<\/p>\n<p>Racing at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, 15-year-old <strong>Gracie Weyant<\/strong> triumphed in the 200-meter breaststroke, thanks to a time of 2:31.10. Representing the Sarasota Sharks, Weyant earned the top seed in the event during the morning preliminaries and backed up that effort by surging over the back half of the final. Sitting third at the first turn and midway point, Weyant moved up to second place at the 150-meter mark and took the lead on the last lap.<\/p>\n<p>Grabbing the second invitation to Wave II was <strong>Abigail Herscu<\/strong>, who came out of Lane Eight and benefited from the best closing lap in the field. Herscu touched the wall in 2:31.53 and completed a dynamic comeback that saw her rally from eighth after the first 50 meters. In qualifying for Wave II, Herscu held off third-place finisher <strong>Kristina Murphy<\/strong> (2:31.89).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Results:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Gracie Weyant, 2:31.10<br \/>\n2. Annika McEnroe, 2:33.50<\/p>\n<p>It was a down-to-the-touch affair in the men\u2019s 200 breaststroke, where <strong>Alec Cullen<\/strong> of Cal-Santa Barbara narrowly beat <strong>Jakob Frick<\/strong> of Nation\u2019s Capital. Trailing Frick by a small margin entering the last lap, Cullen pulled ahead and was timed in 2:14.38, with Frick right behind in 2:14.40. Both men advanced to the Wave II meet in what was their last opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>Cullen and Frick were in a battle with <strong>Coleman Modglin<\/strong> through the first 100 meters, but the qualifiers for Wave II made it a two-man race over the last two lengths.
