NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Michigan has picked up a new verbal commitment for their growing class of 2026 from Junior National qualifier Ozan Kalafat\u00a0<\/strong>of Green Bay, Wis.<\/p>\n

He will join\u00a0Lucas Hodgson<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Logan Zucker<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0in Ann Arbor in the fall of 2022.<\/p>\n

He told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“Beyond pumped to announce my verbal commitment to continue my swimming and academic career at the University of Michigan! Huge thanks to my family, friends, coaches, and teammates for all of their support! Can\u2019t wait to be part of such a historic team! GO BLUE”<\/strong><\/span>\ufe0f\ufe0f”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A talented breaststroker and sprint freestyler, Kalafat does his club swimming with Mid Wisconsin Wave Makers and most recently earned five best times at the Speedo Premier Invite last weekend. Earlier this spring, he posted six top-15 finishes at NCSAs and had a strong showing at the ISCA International Cup.<\/p>\n

Kalafat also won the 200 breast and 500 free at the Wisconsin 13&O Championships while collecting gold medals in the 100m\/200m free at the 18&U Winter Championships.<\/p>\n
