Michelle Coleman will be making her third Olympic team as she was a 24.54 in the 50 free in Budapest that puts her 10th in the world among those that have qualified for the Games. She will also play a role in both of Sweden’s relays that have qualified as a healthy Sarah Sjostrom could potentially land them a medal in the 4×100 medley relay on the final night. Coleman was also a 54.12 in the 100 free and a 1:00.00 in the 100 back but she was officially selected for the 50. In Rio, Coleman reached the final of the 200 freestyle, finishing seventh.<\/p>\n

Sophie Hansson will be off to her first Games as the 4-time NCAA champ this year for NC State swam a 1:05.69 in the 100 breaststroke, which leads the current list of Olympic qualifiers in that event. She also swam a 2:24.79 in the 200 breast but she may just focus on the 100 as well as the 4×100 free and medley relays to try and maximize Sweden’s medal potential. Hansson was the European champ in the 100 breaststroke and looks like a strong medal contender for Sweden in that event.<\/p>\n

Robin Hanson, who has committed to swim at Cal Berkeley<\/a> in the US, was a 1:46.50 in the 200 free at Europeans as the reigning World Juniors silver medalist in the 200 free will make his Olympic debut for Swedish Swimming. Hanson is just one of two Swedish male swimmers to make the team as Erik Persson\u00a0<\/strong>is the other. Among those qualified for Tokyo, Hanson is ranked 13th in the 200 freestyle as he was seventh in Budapest at Europeans.<\/p>\n

Emelie Fast, who at 17 looks to be the youngest on the team, was a 1:06.64 in the 100 breaststroke as she will make her Olympic debut for Swedish Swimming. Fast finished 16th in semi finals but went fast enough in the heats in Budapest to secure her spot on the team to Tokyo.<\/p>\n
