{"id":474104,"date":"2021-05-24T08:33:30","date_gmt":"2021-05-24T15:33:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=474104"},"modified":"2021-05-24T08:33:30","modified_gmt":"2021-05-24T15:33:30","slug":"hosszu-sjostrom-manaudou-le-clos-latest-to-enroll-in-isl-draft-for-naples-season-three","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/hosszu-sjostrom-manaudou-le-clos-latest-to-enroll-in-isl-draft-for-naples-season-three\/","title":{"rendered":"Hosszu, Sjostrom, Manaudou, Le Clos Latest to Enroll in ISL Draft For Naples Season Three"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With one week to go until the closing of the registration period for the International Swimming League (ISL) Draft, the world\u2019s best swimmers continue to sign up to the selection process for ISL clubs that will take place ahead of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/naples-italy-to-host-first-phase-of-isl-season-3-in-five-week-bubble-from-26-august-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Season 3<\/a>, which will take place in Naples, Italy from August 26 &#8211; September 30.<\/p>\n<p>ISL Season 1 MVP <strong>Sarah Sj\u00f6str\u00f6m<\/strong> of Sweden, <strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> (HUN), <strong>Florent Manaudou<\/strong> (FRA) and <strong>Chad le Clos<\/strong> (RSA) are among the latest star names who have registered for the ISL Draft.<\/p>\n<p>They are joined by Australian female swimmers <strong>Emma McKeon<\/strong> \u2013 third in ISL Season 1 MVP scoring, <strong>Bronte<\/strong> and <strong>Cate Campbell<\/strong>, Canadian female swimmers <strong>Kylie Masse<\/strong> and <strong>Kayla Sanchez<\/strong>, along with <strong>Kathleen Baker<\/strong> (USA) and <strong>Alia Atkinson<\/strong> (JAM).<\/p>\n<p>Prominent male swimmers now registered include <strong>Kliment Kolesnikov<\/strong> \u2013 fresh from setting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/kliment-kolesnikov-surges-toward-stardom-at-european-championships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">two world records in the 50m backstroke last week<\/a> \u2013 and <strong>Vladimir Morozov<\/strong> of Russia, <strong>Daiya Seto<\/strong> (JPN), <strong>Nicholas Santos<\/strong> (BRA), <strong>Duncan Scott<\/strong> (GBR), <strong>Mitch Larkin<\/strong> (AUS), <strong>Kristof Milak<\/strong> (HUN) and <strong>Emre Sakci<\/strong> (TUR).<\/p>\n<p>The three highest MVP scorers from Season 2 are also already registered for season three: <strong>Caeleb Dressel<\/strong>, <strong>Lilly King<\/strong> and <strong>Beryl Gastaldello<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>ISL Founder <strong>Konstantin Grigorishin<\/strong> welcomed the latest raft of swimmers to register for the draft selection process while emphasizing that swimmers will miss out on competing in ISL Season 3 if they do not register for the ISL Draft by the 31st May deadline<a href=\"http:\/\/isl.global\">.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2018\u2019I am very pleased to see that the large majority of our star swimmers from the first two seasons have committed to participating in ISL Season 3 through registering for the ISL Draft,\u2019\u2019 said Grigorishin. \u2018\u2019I call upon all swimmers not yet signed up that they now have less than one week to follow the lead of their peers. I cannot emphasize enough that this is the last call for swimmers \u2013 If they are not registered by 31st May they will not be able compete in ISL Season 3.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The ISL Draft is scheduled to take place during the week of 28 June 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The ISL Draft has been designed to fundamentally change the 10 ISL clubs\u2019 athlete selection process, enhancing the competitive parity among the teams vying for the Season 3 title.<\/p>\n<p>Clubs will be given the opportunity to retain a maximum of 15 swimmers from Season 2, along with an additional swimmer maintained via an online fan vote, before the teams can select 11 additional swimmers from the ISL Draft Pool.
