In 100 Back<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hubert Kos<\/strong> set a world junior 200IM record of 1:56.99 but there will be no defence of his 100 backstroke title for <strong>Kliment Kolesnikov<\/strong> after he limped in 16th minutes after winning the 100 free title at the <strong>European Championships<\/strong> in Budapest.<\/p>\n<p>Kos&#8217; team-mate <strong>Laszlo Cseh<\/strong> also reached the 200IM final at his record 10th European Championships with <strong>Federica Pellegrini, Arno Kamminga, Jeremy Desplanches<\/strong> and <strong>Boglarka Kapas<\/strong> among other qualifiers for Thursday&#8217;s finals.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/budapest2020.microplustiming.com\/indexBudapest2021_web.php\">Link to results<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/aquatics.eurovisionsports.tv\/home?id=J037sbwGmvZ09MGIIZxXtLeaN\">Link to live stream<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Back<\/h3>\n<p>Kolesnikov had unleashed a 52.32 blast in the morning heats and it appeared that <strong>Camille Lacourt&#8217;<\/strong>s 2010 European record of 52.11 was in his sights.<\/p>\n<p>However, he had less than 15 minutes between his 100 free title and returning to the Duna Arena pool where he flopped headfirst into the water before the race.<\/p>\n<p>His time of 54.86 was the slowest in the field that was headed by <strong>Apostolos Christou<\/strong> in a Greek record of 52.77<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mewen Tomac<\/strong> (52.86) and <strong>Robert Glinta<\/strong> &#8211; who set a Romanian mark of 52.97 &#8211; were the other men inside 53.<\/p>\n<p>Russian record holder and 2018 silver medallist <strong>Evgeny Rylov<\/strong> also progressed in 53.15.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Qualifiers:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<div was <strong>Erik Persson<\/strong> who booked lane four in a Swedish record of 2:07.85 with world record-holder <strong>Anton Chupkov<\/strong> of Russia the only other man to go sub-2:08 in 2:07.94.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matti Mattson<\/strong> set a Finnish record of 2:08.26 ahead of Kamminga in 2:08.31.<\/p>\n<p><strong>James Wilby<\/strong>, silver medallist in Glasgow, and 2016 champion European Championships.<\/p>\n<p>At 35, he is the second-oldest man in the entire pool competition and made his European debut in Berlin in 2002, a year before Kos was born in March 2003.<\/p>\n<p>Kos, now 18, split 24.74\/53.90\/1:28.95\/1:56.99 to set the new global junior mark and slice 0.07 from the previous record of 1:57.06 set by China&#8217;s <strong>Qin Haiyang<\/strong> in the same pool in July 2017.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alberto Razzetti<\/strong> (1:57.39) and defending champion Desplanches (1:57.42) were the next through with two Britons in the form of <strong>Duncan
