European Championships: Kliment Kolesnikov Blasts 50 Back WR In 23.93<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kliment Kolesnikov<\/strong> became the first man to go inside 24 seconds as he lowered his own 50-meter backstroke world record to 23.93 in the semifinals at the <strong>European Championships<\/strong> in Budapest.<\/p>\n<p>The Russian set the previous mark of 24.00 at the last European edition in Glasgow in 2018 and he showed great power over the second half of the race to slice .07secs from that mark.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/budapest2020.microplustiming.com\/indexBudapest2021_web.php\">Link to results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/aquatics.eurovisionsports.tv\/home?id=J037sbwGmvZ09MGIIZxXtLeaN\">Link to live stream<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Kolesnikov has been on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/kolesnikov-goes-fourth-russian-all-time-with-47-60-in-100-free-1500-record-for-kirpichnikova\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">superb form so far this season<\/a> and left the water to prepare for the men&#8217;s 4&#215;100 free relay where he anchored the Russian quartet to the gold medal.
