Peaty headed the heats in 58.26, a time only he and Kamminga have bettered with Ilya Shymanovich second in 58.46, the time in which Cameron van der Burgh had won 2012 Olympic gold.<\/p>\n
Kamminga won the first semi in 58.74 – splitting 27.55\/31.19 – and nodded and smiled on looking at the scoreboard, plan executed for the Netherlands swimmer.<\/p>\n
Next up was Peaty who went out in 26.72 with Nicolo Martinenghi<\/strong> for company at the turn, the Italian record holder turning in 26.94.<\/p>\n
The Briton accelerated and a second 50 of 30.95 saw him stop the clock at 57.67 with Martinenghi on 58.45.<\/p>\n
Russian pair Kirill Prigoda<\/strong> and Anton Chupkov<\/strong> were the men to miss out in ninth and 10th.<\/p>\n
