NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Indiana University has received another verbal commitment for their growing Class of 2026 from sprinter Katharina Wrede<\/strong> of Salzgitter, Germany.<\/p>\n

She will join the Hoosiers along with\u00a0MacKenna Lieske<\/strong>,<\/a> Lily Hann<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Cat Watrous<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Chiok Sze Yeo<\/b><\/a>,\u00a0Kristina Paegle<\/b><\/a>,\u00a0Avery Spade<\/b><\/a>,\u00a0Gracie Olsen<\/b><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Mya DeWitt<\/b><\/a>\u00a0at the start of the 2022-23 season.<\/p>\n

Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/p>\n

“I\u2018m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Indiana University! It\u2018s amazing to have the possibility to further my academic and athletic career at a top university in the US with such a great team and many academic offers. GO HOOSIERS!!\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

At the 2019 LEN European Junior Championships, Wrede was a semi-finalist in the 50m free. At the Berlin Open in 2020, she earned bronze in the 50m free and placed third in the 100m free at the 2019 German Swimming Championships.<\/p>\n

Wrede does her club swimming with SSG Braunschweig and attends Humboldtschule Hannover School.<\/p>\n
