I feel comfortable with my training and I know what I came here to do. I\u2019m pretty excited about things. I\u2019m just pretty focused on what I\u2019m doing right now and am having a good time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>NCAA champ\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/paige-madden-turns-on-jets-to-win-first-individual-ncaa-title-in-500-freestyle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Paige Madden<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>finished in third at 4:09.49 as she was a 4:09.2 this morning and is ranked sixth in the country.\u00a0<strong>Ally McHugh\u00a0<\/strong>finished in fifth at 4:09.59 ahead of teenager\u00a0<strong>Cavan Gormsen\u00a0<\/strong>(4:10.00).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Results:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Emma Nordin, 4:04.60<\/li>\n<li>Leah Smith, 4:04.83<\/li>\n<li>Paige Madden, 4:09.49<\/li>\n<li>Ally McHugh, 4:09.59<\/li>\n<li>Cavan Gormsen, 4:10.00<\/li>\n<li>Sierra Schmidt, 4:10.07<\/li>\n<li>Kaersten Meitz, 4:13.71<\/li>\n<li>Joanna Evans, 4:15.07<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>In the men&#8217;s race,\u00a0<strong>Marwan El Kamash\u00a0<\/strong>missed the FINA A cut in winning the final with a 3:48.17 as he back halfed the race, running down Florida&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alfonso Mestre\u00a0<\/strong>in the process, who was second at 3:49.16. El Kamash flipped at a 1:54.17, while Mestre set the pace at 1:52.11 on the front 200. The A standard was a 3:46.78 as El Kamash would represent Egypt and Mestre Puerto Rico.
