NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of North Carolina, Asheville has earned their first verbal commitment for the 2022-23 season and beyond from in-state standout Brianna Cottingham<\/strong> of Pfafftown, N.C.<\/p>\n

Her best times include:<\/p>\n

\n
100 breast \u2013 1:03.06<\/li>\n
200 breast \u2013 2:16.99<\/li>\n
200 IM \u2013 2:08.21<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Cottingham does her club swimming with Northwest North Carolina YMCA Riptyde and most recently earned four best times at the YMCA Swim Festival in March after a stellar showing at the 18&U Winter Championships in December. In Summer 2019, she finished 13th in the 200m breast and 21st in the 100m breast at YMCA LCM Nationals.<\/p>\n
Currently a junior at Ronald Regan High School, Cottingham finished fourth in the 100 breast in 2021 while taking 12th in that event as a sophomore at the North Carolina 4A State Championships.<\/p>\n
She would’ve scored in the A-final of the 100\/200 breast, as well as the B-final of the 200 IM, at the 2021 CCSA Championships where the Bulldogs finished fourth overall.<\/p>\n
