AUSTIN, Texas, January 19. AFTER a morning during which the 14-year-old professional swimmer Michael Andrew took down the 13-14 U.S. National Age Group record in the 100-meter backstroke, Andrew returned this evening to win the men’s 100-meter breast B final in a NAG record.<\/p>\n

Andrew turned in a sizzling time of 1:03.83 to win the consolation heat. That swim smashed the previous record of 1:04.74 set by Anthony Robinson way back in 1994, 20 years ago. Andrew split the swim 30.28 going out and 33.55 coming home.<\/p>\n

Andrew keeps racking up the national age group records. In long course meters, he holds the 11-12 50 free (25.09), 50 fly (26.22), 13-14 50 free (23.19), 100 back (57.38), 100 breast (1:03.83) and 200 IM (2:05.13).
