Adriel Sanes<\/strong> made his third shot at the 200 breaststroke Olympic qualifying standard time count, earning a provisional standard in the event Sunday night at the UANA Qualifier.<\/p>\n

Sanes had won the 200 breast event on Saturday, his time of 2:14.45 an improvement of nearly two seconds on his entry time. But he was still .19 seconds away from the Olympic B cut. The U.S. Virgin Islands swimmer made up that gap and more in a post-meet time trial, going 2:12.59 to earn the consideration time.<\/p>\n

Sanes competed for four years at the University of Denver and will grad-transfer to Auburn<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The meet at the Orlando Health National Training Center is an opportunity for swimmers primarily from South and Central America and the Caribbean to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics. Some American swimmers, particularly those that train in Florida, are also racing there.<\/p>\n
