NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Butler University has added a new commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from\u00a0Cotter Welch\u00a0<\/strong>of Northville, Mich.<\/p>\n

She will join\u00a0Alani Hightower<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and Caroline Colombo<\/strong><\/a> as a member of the Bulldogs\u2019 Class of 2025.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I am extremely grateful to announce my commitment to study and swim at Butler University. When I stepped on campus I realized that Butler was the place for me. Their great athletic and academic programs will help me achieve all of my goals for the future. I want to thank my family, doctors, coaches, and everyone who helped me get to this point and I can\u2019t wait to see what the future holds. Go Bulldogs!!!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Welch does her club swimming with Novi Sturgeons and most recently earned three best times at Indianapolis Sectionals. At the beginning of last year, she discovered that she was severely anemic but managed to recover over quarantine. In just one season, she has dropped six seconds in the 200 free and 12 in the 500 free.<\/p>\n
