The TYR 18-and-Under Spring Cup is being held at four locations around the United States \u2013 Richmond, Des Moines, Orlando and Irvine.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a look at the highlights from each locale on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<h3>Torri Huske Headlines Again in Richmond<\/h3>\n<p>One of several teenage contenders to represent the United States at the Olympic Games in Tokyo this summer, <strong>Torri Huske<\/strong> claimed a pair of victories in Richmond. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/nag-record-holder-torri-huske-commits-to-stanford\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Stanford recruit<\/a> opened the night with a victory in the 200-meter butterfly, thanks to a clocking of 2:10.88, and came back to win the 50 freestyle later in the session in 25.04.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ryan Branon<\/strong> nearly cracked the two-minute barrier in the men\u2019s 200 butterfly, which he won in 2:00.90, and 15-year-old <strong>Daniel<\/strong> <strong>Diehl<\/strong> was impressive in the 50 freestyle, going 22.99. In third place was 14-year-old <strong>Thomas Heilman<\/strong>, who checked in at 23.27. The 18-year-old blasted the field, going 2:11.33 for a victory of nearly six seconds. Meanwhile, <strong>Jack Alexy<\/strong> produced an impressive double, as he won the 50 freestyle in 22.90 and was second in the 100 backstroke (56.30), which was won by <strong>Josh Zuchowski<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In women\u2019s action, <strong>Alexis Mulvihill<\/strong> sped to a 25.82 marker in the 50 freestyle, with <strong>Eboni McCarty<\/strong> not far behind in 26.08. In the 400 freestyle, <strong>Summer Cardwell<\/strong> easily outpaced the field, as she turned in a time of 4:13.69.<\/p>\n<h3>Molly Yetter Speeds to Des Moines Triumph in 50 Freestyle<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Molly Yetter<\/strong> was the lone swimmer to dip under 26 seconds in the 50 freestyle at the Des Moines location of the Spring Cup. Yetter covered her lap in 25.99, and was followed in second place by Cory Shanks in 26.09. <strong>Kaelyn Gridley<\/strong> and <strong>Maggie Papanicholas<\/strong> dueled in the women\u2019s 200 breaststroke, with Gridley narrowly winning in 2:30.94. Papanicholas was right behind in 2:31.34. On the men\u2019s side, it was <strong>Adam Fusti-Molnar<\/strong> who was quickest, on the strength of a 2:14.93 performance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Daniel Matheson<\/strong> put together a strong outing in the men\u2019s 200 butterfly, touching the wall in 2:00.62, and <strong>Jeremy Graunke<\/strong> dropped a time of 22.44 to finish first in the 50 freestyle. <strong>Ziyad Saleem<\/strong> (55.59) and <strong>Margaret Wanezek<\/strong> (1:01.20) topped the fields in the 100 backstroke.<\/p>\n<h3>Gabriel Jett, Rex Maurer Add Trials Cuts in 400 Free at Irvine<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Gabriel Jett<\/strong> and <strong>Rex Maurer<\/strong> both turned in huge time drops in the boys 400 free to book their places at Olympic Trials in the event at the Irvine section of the TYR 18U Spring Cup.<\/p>\n<p>Jett lopped 3.99 seconds off his entry time to win in 3:55.36 and get well under the Trials standard. Maurer needed to cut 5.5 seconds off his time, but he got there with a 3:57.05.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Teagan O\u2019Dell<\/strong> picked up a Trials cut in the 100 backstroke in 1:02.40, outdueling <strong>Justina Kozan<\/strong> in the final by .06 seconds. It\u2019s a new trials cut for Kozan, who earlier in the night won the 200 fly in 2:13.34. She\u2019d previously attained the trials cut there, as did Jett in boys race, winning in 2:00.36.<\/p>\n<p>The girls 400 free featured a battle of two swimmers with Wave 2 Trials cuts. <strong>Katelyn Crom<\/strong> clocked in at 4:11.86 to pull away from <strong>Claire Tuggle,<\/strong> in second in 4:12.41. Earlier, Tuggle won the 200 breaststroke in 2:33.45.<\/p>\n<p>The girls 50 free was won by Ecuadorian <strong>Anicka Delgado,<\/strong> who went 25.78, just shy of adding an Olympic B cut to the mark she gained in the 100 free in March.
