NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Utah has received their first verbal commitment for the 2022-23 season and beyond from Junior National qualifier\u00a0Katelyn Buono\u00a0<\/strong>of Sparks, Nevada.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Utah! I am beyond grateful for all the support from my family, friends, and coaches. Can\u2019t wait to be a Ute!\ufe0f?\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A talented backstroker and IMer, Buono trains year-round with Reno Aquatic Club and picked up three best times at St. George Sectionals last month where she earned bronze in both the 100\/200 back. She was the 200 back runner-up at Far Westerns in 2019 and finaled in three events at Western Zone Seniors that summer as well.<\/p>\n
