The meet is serving as a tuneup competition for the United States Olympic Trials, which are scheduled for June in Omaha. The meet primarily featured athletes \u2013 professional and amateur \u2013 connected to the University of Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Texas freshman <strong>Carson Foster<\/strong> notched his fourth victory of the weekend when he won the 200-meter butterfly in 1:59.31. That triumph complemented earlier wins in the 200 freestyle, 200 individual medley and 400 individual medley. Foster is a contender to qualify for this summer\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/tokyo2020.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Olympic Games in Tokyo<\/a> in several events.<\/p>\n<p>The 100 freestyle featured three athletes under the 50-second barrier, led by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/texas-guys-turn-in-several-quality-marks-in-tuneup-for-olympic-trials\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Drew Kibler<\/strong><\/a> in a time of 49.54. Kibler was followed in second and third place by <strong>Daniel Krueger<\/strong> (49.77) and <strong>Maxime Rooney<\/strong> (49.87). In other action, <strong>Will Licon<\/strong> was fastest in the 200 breaststroke with a mark of 2:13.02 while <strong>Austin Katz<\/strong> paced the field in the 200 backstroke behind a time of 2:00.00.<\/p>\n<p>Texas is preparing for the Olympic Trials and Olympic Games under the watch of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/texas-mens-coach-eddie-reese-announces-retirement-after-43-seasons-15-national-championships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Eddie Reese<\/strong><\/a> for the final time.
