With the United States Olympic Trials<\/a> less than two months away, Foster turned in a strong performance on Friday night at the Texas Long-Course Kickoff. Contesting the 400-meter individual medley, the University of Texas freshman touched the wall in 4:13.79. He was followed in second place by his brother, Jake Foster<\/strong><\/a>, who posted a time of 4:17.04.<\/p>\n

At this point in the season, Foster\u2019s effort is a positive sign that a major performance is in the offing at the Olympic Trials. Foster is one of several leading contenders to represent the United States in Tokyo in the 400 medley, which is the opening event of the Olympic program. In Omaha, which will serve as the Trials host for a fourth time, Foster is expected to battle with event stalwarts Chase Kalisz<\/strong> and Jay Litherland<\/strong>, among others.<\/p>\n
