Olympic 100m breaststroke champion Adam Peaty<\/strong> added another line in the history books as he scorched to 57.70 in the heats of the British Swimming Selection Trials.<\/strong><\/p>\n

No other man has gone inside 58 seconds but the 26-year-old has now done so on 14 occasions and in a\u00a0 time that was 0.82 off his personal best – that being his world record of 56.88.<\/p>\n

Out in 26.87 and back in 30.83, Peaty rocketed home to pose the question of what he will do in Wednesday evening’s final.<\/p>\n

Significant too that he can deliver such a performance with morning finals to come in Tokyo.<\/p>\n

It came almost six years to the day that Peaty – coached by Mel Marshall<\/strong> at the National Centre Loughborough<\/strong> – went inside 58 for the first time, going 57.92 in the same lane of the same pool at the national championships on 17 April 2015.<\/p>\n
