It\u2019s actually amazing to see her come back from leukemia and make an Olympic team. That would inspire anyone. Photo Courtesy:Delly Carr (Swimming Australia)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The women\u2019s 200m freestyle heats will be led by the two-time winner and defending champion, World Championship silver medallist (2019) <strong>Titmus<\/strong> (St Peters Western, QLD Coach <strong>Dean Boxall<\/strong>) and four-time winner and Rio bronze medalist <strong>McKeon<\/strong> (Griffith University, Gold Coast Coach Michael Bohl).<\/p>\n<p>Titmus made her competitive return at the Vorgee Brisbane Senior Metropolitan Championships on March 13 at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre &#8211; clocking a very tidy 4:06.53 to win the 400m freestyle before backing up later inn the day with a solid 800m freestyle in 8:32.54 (4:23.73) allaying any fears that she was ready to race here.<\/p>\n<p>It was the first time Titmus had raced since December 13, 2020 when she won the 200m freestyle at the QLD State Championships in 1:55.93 \u2013 (the fourth fastest time in the world for 2020) withdrawing from the meet with a shoulder injury which also saw her withdrawal from the Dolphins National Event Camp on the Gold Coast in March.<\/p>\n<p>McKeon won the NSW Open last month in 1:55.56 \u2013 sitting third in the world for the first four months of \u201921 behind Katie Ledecky (1:54.40) and Yang Junxuan (CHN) 1:54.70.<\/p>\n<p>It will be a competitive field. Throw in Gwangju World Championship 4x200m freestyle relay golden girls <strong>Madi Wilson<\/strong> (Marion, SA Coach <strong>Peter Bishop<\/strong>) and <strong>Brianna Throssell<\/strong> (UWA West Coast Coach Mick Palfrey) and heat swimmers <strong>Leah Neale<\/strong> (USC Spartans \u2013 University of Sunshine Coast Coach Chris Mooney) and <strong>Kia Melverton<\/strong> (TSS Aquatics
