national 100 back mark to 58.65 as the <strong>Eindhoven Qualification Meet<\/strong> wrapped up.<\/p>\n<p>There was also a Dutch 50 fly record of 23.02 for <strong>Nyls Korstanje<\/strong> after he initially lowered it in the heats to 23.19.<\/p>\n<p>The meet at the\u00a0<strong>Pieter van den Hoogenband Swimming Stadium<\/strong>\u00a0gives swimmers the chance to qualify for the\u00a0<strong>Tokyo Olympics<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Paralympics<\/strong>\u00a0plus the\u00a0<strong>European Championships<\/strong> in Budapest.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimcup.nl\/eqm\/live-timing\/\">Link to results<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Toussaint lowered her own national record to 58.74 in the heats, splitting 28.51\/30.23 to take 0.17 off her previous mark of 58.91 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/kira-toussaint-scorches-to-58-91-dutch-record-in-100-back-as-rotterdam-meet-concludes\/\">from the <strong>Rotterdam Qualification Meet<\/strong> in December.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The five-time European short-course champion was back for the finals session to split 28.16\/30.49 and to slice a further 0.09secs from her <strong>Gemma Spofforth<\/strong> and her 58.12 from the <strong>2009 World Championships<\/strong> with its super-suits chaos &#8211; and second in textile behind only <strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> and the 58.45 that secured her gold at Rio 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Britain&#8217;s <strong>Kathleen Dawson<\/strong> also went 58.65 at t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/dawson-scorches-to-58-65-over-100-back-in-manchester-second-british-woman-inside-59secs\/\">he <strong>British Swimming Invitation Meet<\/strong> in Manchester in March<\/a> with the women sitting side by side atop the rankings in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Dawson will be racing at this weeks British Championships in London with trials season having already thrown up some storming prospects for Tokyo come July.<\/p>\n<p>That time would have been good enough for silver in Rio and at London 2012 and would have secured gold at all previous Olympic Games.<\/p>\n<p>It would also have earned silver at the <strong>2019 World Championships<\/strong> in Gwangju.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/kira-toussaint-lowers-european-50-back-record-to-27-10-for-second-continental-mark-in-one-day\/\">That followed her exploits over 50m on Saturday<\/a> where she twice lowered the European record, finishing the day on 27.10 and just 0.12 off the world record 26.98 set by China\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Liu Xiang<\/strong>\u00a0at cut by 0.01 to lower the 50 fly mark in heats to 23.19 before taking an almighty 0.17 slice in the final in 23.02.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thom De Boer<\/strong> (23.58) and <strong>Thomas Verhoeven<\/strong> (23.67) were next home.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ranomi Kromowidjojo<\/strong> was just 0.12 outside her national record of 25.24 in the women&#8217;s race, getting her hand to the wall first in 25.36 ahead of <strong>Femke Heemskerk<\/strong> (26.34) and <strong>Kim Busch<\/strong> (26.36).<\/p>\n<h3>Kamminga Wraps Up Meet With Third Title<\/h3>\n<p>Kamminga opened his meet with a Dutch record of 26.80 in the 50br <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/kamminga-goes-58-64-in-100-breaststroke-at-eindhoven-qualification-meet\/\">before going 58.64 in the 100br.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sunday morning brought a 200 prelim of 2:08.48 before he concluded his meet with a third title that was completely dominant.<\/p>\n<p><em>Splits<\/em>: 28.38\/1:00.54\/1:34.01\/2:09.30<\/p>\n<p>Speedy early swims &#8211; with Tokyo finals set to take place in the morning &#8211; apparently the order of the day for Kamminga who also went 58.68 in the and second at 150 to win the men&#8217;s 200fr in 1:48.08 ahead of fellow German<strong> Poul Zellmann<\/strong> (1:48.28) with <strong>Maarten Brzoskowski<\/strong> (1:48.50) rounding out the podium.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annika Bruhn<\/strong> won the women&#8217;s 200 free, heading the field all the way to stop the clock at 1:57.37 ahead of fellow German <strong>Marie Pietruschka<\/strong> (1:58.74) with <strong>Sharon van Rouwendaal<\/strong> adding bronze to her 200 back and 400 free golds in 1:59.56.<\/p>\n<p>The 1500 free races were contested at the conclusion of the morning sesssion with <strong>Johanna Enkner<\/strong> taking the women&#8217;s race in 16:57.69.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lars Bottelier<\/strong> took the men&#8217;s title in 15:38.58.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p
