The NCAA Champion University of Texas Men\u2019s Swimming and Diving program recorded a clean sweep of the 2020-21 Big 12 Swimming and Diving of the Year awards, the Big 12 Conference office announced Friday. For the UT men, it marked the seventh consecutive sweep of the awards and 15th sweep in program history. The awards are voted on by the league\u2019s head coaches.<\/p>\n

Junior Drew Kibler<\/strong> was named Big 12 Men\u2019s Swimmer of the Year, and freshman Carson Foster<\/strong> garnered Big 12 Men\u2019s Newcomer of the Year accolades. Senior Jordan Windle<\/strong> captured the Big 12 Men\u2019s Diver of the Year honor for the fourth consecutive season. Eddie Reese<\/strong> was tabbed the Big 12 Men\u2019s Swimming Coach of the Year, and Matt Scoggin<\/strong> received Big 12 Men\u2019s Diving Coach of the Year recognition.<\/p>\n

Kibler was a member of the winning 800-yard freestyle relay while recording second-place finishes in the 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle at the NCAA Championship meet. He also helped the 400-yard freestyle relay earn a fourth-place finish and placed fifth in the 500-yard freestyle.<\/p>\n

Foster previously claimed Men\u2019s Newcomer of the Meet honors at the Big 12 Championship. He joined Kibler on the winning 800-yard freestyle relay and finished second in the 400-yard individual medley, fourth in the 200-yard individual medley and sixth in the 200-yard backstroke at the NCAA Championship meet.<\/p>\n

Windle earlier was honored as the Men\u2019s Diver of the Meet at the Big 12 Championship and the Division I Men\u2019s Diver of the Year by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). He is the first individual in league history to win four Big 12 Diver of the Year accolades. Windle won the NCAA individual title on the 1-meter board, placed second on the 3-meter springboard and finished fourth on platform at the NCAA Championship meet.<\/p>\n

Reese earned the Big 12 Men\u2019s Swimming Coach of the Year honor for the 19th time in his career. He led the Longhorns to their 42nd-consecutive conference title and an NCAA-best 15th national championship this season. Reese also claimed Division I Men\u2019s Swimming Coach of the Year honors by the CSCAA.<\/p>\n

Scoggin swept the Big 12 Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Diving Coach of the Year accolades. He previously was tabbed the Division I Men\u2019s Diving Coach of the Year by the CSCAA. UT\u2019s group of four divers at the NCAA Championship meet registered one individual title, four top-five finishes and contributed a combined 83 points to the team standings.<\/p>\n
