King went faster in the heats last night with a 1:05.32 which is the fastest time in the world this year (tied with herself) ahead of this summer&#8217;s Olympics as King hasn&#8217;t been beaten internationally in the 100 breast since taking gold in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>King finished ahead of 17-year-old <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/junior-national-champion-lydia-jacoby-verbally-commits-to-texas-for-fall-of-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Texas commit\u00a0<\/a><strong>Lydia Jacoby\u00a0<\/strong>(1:06.38), who scored a new best time in second place. Jacoby is a rising star in the sport from Alaska as she was the 2019 juniors champ and is finishing her junior year of high school before taking a stab at her first Olympic Trials.<\/p>\n<p>Pan Am Games gold medalist\u00a0<strong>Annie Lazor\u00a0<\/strong>finished third at 1:06.86 ahead of Tennessee&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Molly Hannis\u00a0<\/strong>(1:06.93) as this looked to be a preview of what is to come at Olympic Trials in June.\u00a0<strong>Emily Escobedo<\/strong>, who will be dangerous in the 200, was fifth at 1:07.70 ahead of NCAA runner-up <strong>Kaitlyn Dobler\u00a0<\/strong>(1:08.15), who was the juniors champ in 2018 and the national high school record holder in this event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Aw21tAwZNfE\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In the men&#8217;s race,\u00a0<strong>Nic Fink\u00a0<\/strong>was the only swimmer to break 1:00 in the final with a 59.74 as he went 1-2 with fellow Georgia swimmer\u00a0<strong>Andrew Wilson\u00a0<\/strong>(1:00.06). Fink is the fastest American this year as he is training for his first Olympic team at age 27. There were two other 27-year-olds in the field with Wilson and\u00a0<strong>Kevin Cordes\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.19) in fifth as all three of them train with the postgrad group at the University of Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>21-year-old\u00a0<strong>Michael Andrew\u00a0<\/strong>finished in third at 1:00.38 ahead of 23-year-old\u00a0<strong>Tommy Cope\u00a0<\/strong>(1:00.89).
