MATT Welsh and Brooke Hanson each scored double victories on the fourth day of competition at the 2003 Victorian State Championships in Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p>Welsh, the 2000 Olympic silver medalist and 2000 world champion in the 100m backstroke, took the 50 back and 50 fly (24.34) this evening in Melbourne.  Welsh&#39;s fly time just missed Michael Klim&#39;s meet record of 23.99, while in the backstroke sprint, his 25.94 was about half a second slower than his own Victorian record of 25.49.<\/p>\n<p>On the women&#39;s side, Brooke Hanson also took two events, successfully defending her 100m breaststroke title in 1:09.79 and her 200m IM crown in 2:19.00.
