TALLAHASSEE, Fla. \u2013 The No. 20 Florida State women\u2019s swimming and diving team won all 16 events Saturday in a tri-meet against UNC-Wilmington and North Florida at the Bobby Leach Center in Tallahassee, Fla. <\/p>\n
With the two victories (FSU – 159, UNCW- 127; FSU – 166, UNF- 115), the Lady Seminoles improved their season\u2019s dual meet record to 9-1.<\/p>\n
Junior Andree-Anne LeRoy led FSU with three victories. LeRoy began the day with a victory in the 100 yard backstroke (58.21) before going on to win the 200 yard breaststroke (2:24.69) and 200 yard IM (2:06.41).<\/p>\n
Sophomore Emily Breen added two individual victories with wins in the 50 yard freestyle (24.09) and 100 yard butterfly (56.29). Junior Emma Dutton was victorious in the 100 breast (1:04.35) and helped fellow teammates Katie Byrnes, Margaret Colley and Jenny Lyes win the 200-medley relay (1:48.00).<\/p>\n
The Lady Seminoles also won the 800 free relay when Liz Parkinson, Amy Lo, Lisa How and Loren Hansen touched the wall with a time of 7:48.54. Hansen also won the 200 free (1:54.12), while How won the 200 fly (2:04.21) and Lo won the 500 free (5:07.71).<\/p>\n
In diving, the Lady Seminoles swept both the springboard events with junior Chelsie Lerew winning the one-meter (280.30) and sophomore Courtney McClow placing first on the three-meter (292.00).<\/p>\n
Rounding out the winners for FSU were juniors Jennifer Smith in the 1000 free (10:29.19) and Rachel Dong in the 100 free (52.65) and sophomore Laura Kenney in the 200 back (2:07.28).<\/p>\n
Saturday was the Seminoles' first action of the New Year, however FSU stayed active during the winter break with training and competition in the Florida Keys from Dec. 14-22. The Tribe competed at the Keys Relay Invitational, a meet comprised of 12 different relay events, on Dec. 18. The Lady Seminoles placed first against top national competition, beating out Northwestern, Tennessee and Ohio State. The women won nine events, scoring 154 points, to edge out Northwestern (128).<\/p>\n
