On Saturday, Dressel continued his preparation for Tokyo with a superb double at the ISCA International Senior Cup in St. Petersburg.<\/p>\n<p>Dressel opened his last night of finals with a victory in the 100-meter freestyle, as his mark of 48.84 was almost a half-second quicker than the 49.25 of <strong>Arsenio Bustos<\/strong>. Dressel, the two-time defending world champion in the event, split 23.49 for front half and came home in 25.35. Alex Sobers also broke the 50-second barrier, going 49.78.<\/p>\n<p>More impressive than his victory in the 100 freestyle was the fact that Dressel came back and won the 200 butterfly in 1:58.74, more than two seconds ahead of runnerup <strong>Jace Crawford<\/strong> (2:01.07). Although best known for his sprint prowess, Dressel proved his ability to handle a distance discipline. In completing his sweep of the butterfly events, Dressel was out in 57.73 at the midway point and covered the last two laps in 1:01.01.<\/p>\n<p>In the women\u2019s 100 freestyle, Egypt\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/farida-osman-part-of-forbes-middle-east-30-under-30\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Farida Osman<\/strong><\/a> claimed victory in 55.63.
