At the 2017 meet, <strong>Jack Conger<\/strong> set the NCAA, meet, American and U.S. Open records in the event, the Longhorn going 1:37.35.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Albeiro, fresh off a Friday double in which he finished second in the 100 fly and fifth in the 100 backstroke, set the pace in prelims. He clocked in at 1:39.61, nearly a second off the Greensboro Aquatic Center record that he set in 2020 (1:38.65).<\/p>\n<p>Just five one-hundredths back is Cal&#8217;s <strong>Trenton Julian,<\/strong> the bronze medalist in the 200 freestyle just missing out on being the fourth Golden Bear of the morning to garner a top seed.<\/p>\n<p>In the title race between Cal and Texas, it&#8217;s a one-on-one situation. Both teams have a B finalist. Julian and <strong>Sam Pomajevich<\/strong> of Texas, the fifth seed, will battle it out in the A final.<\/p>\n<p>The third seed goes to Virginia Tech&#8217;s <strong>Antani Ivanov,<\/strong> who went 1:40.07.
