﻿{"id":466722,"date":"2021-03-25T18:00:39","date_gmt":"2021-03-26T01:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=466722"},"modified":"2021-03-25T19:28:43","modified_gmt":"2021-03-26T02:28:43","slug":"texas-longhorns-take-round-three-in-relay-battle-with-cal-to-win-400-medley-relay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/texas-longhorns-take-round-three-in-relay-battle-with-cal-to-win-400-medley-relay\/","title":{"rendered":"Texas Longhorns Take Round Three in Relay Battle With Cal to Win 400 Medley Relay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Texas Longhorns finished Thursday night of the 2021 NCAA Division I Men&#8217;s Swimming &amp; Diving Championships with a flourish as the team of\u00a0<strong>Chris Staka\u00a0<\/strong>(45.02),\u00a0<strong>Caspar Corbeau\u00a0<\/strong>(50.36),\u00a0<strong>Alvin Jiang\u00a0<\/strong>(44.05) and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/daniel-krueger-grateful-to-be-at-an-ncaa-meet-again-prepared-for-team-battle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Daniel Krueger<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>(40.80) won with a 3:00.23 over California (3:00.73) in a dog fight from the start.<\/p>\n<p>The Golden Bears finished in second in a tremendous fight with the team of\u00a0<strong>Destin Lasco\u00a0<\/strong>(45.28),\u00a0<strong>Reece Whitley\u00a0<\/strong>(50.58),\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ryan-hoffer-cal-bears-set-for-awaited-showdown-with-texas-at-ncaa-championships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ryan Hoffer<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>(43.80) and\u00a0<strong>Bjorn Seeliger\u00a0<\/strong>(41.07) as they hold the lead through seven events by 27 points<\/p>\n<p>The Louisville Cardinals nearly stole the relay win from the penultimate heat but ended up fourth at 3:01.52, just getting out-touched by Florida (3:01.51).
