The relays are all timed finals and will take place during the finals session. The 1,650 will also be a timed final and heats will start in the afternoon leading into the final.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia leads the meet after winning five events, while NC State has won four and is in second place.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/watch\/player\/_\/id\/55c111e9-9709-422b-84f5-7b469892b380\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Live Stream<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/swimmeetresults.tech\/NCAA-Division-I-Women-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Live Results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/2021-ncaa-division-i-womens-swimming-and-diving-championshipss\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Complete meet coverage<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NCAA Championships: Women\u2019s 200 Backstroke<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The NCAA record in the event is 1:47.24 held by Wisconsin\u2019s <strong>Beata Nelson<\/strong>, who won the title in 2019. The fastest time in history is a non-NCAA time by <strong>Regan Smith<\/strong> (1:47.16). Three of the top six times are former Cal swimmers with <strong>Kathleen<\/strong> <strong>Baker<\/strong> third (1:47.30), <strong>Elizabeth Pelton<\/strong> fifth (1:47.84) and <strong>Missy Franklin<\/strong> sixth (1:47.91). Stanford\u2019s <strong>Taylor Ruck<\/strong> is the other in the top five (1:47.59). Cal has won the event eight times, including four of the past seven with Baker winning twice and Franklin and Pelton each winning one. <strong>Natalie Coughlin<\/strong> won the event three years in a row from 2001-2004.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Alabama junior <strong>Rhyan White<\/strong> and NC State sophomore <strong>Katharine Berkoff<\/strong> had a great battle in the final prelims heat. White took the top seed in 1:50.18, while Berkoff was just behind in 1:50.32.<\/p>\n<p>A pair of freshman dueled in the second-to-last prelims heat and will have prime seeds as well.
