The team competition leaders had posted the top three times in prelims, but they were forced to settle for 1-3-5 with Drury inserting itself into second and fourth. It was very close to nabbing 1-3.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Giulia Grasso<\/strong> won in 4:48.80, just .03 ahead of Drury\u2019s <strong>Bec Cross. Sophie Lange<\/strong> of Queens, who still has the 200 fly to come, was third, .02 ahead of <strong>Allison Weber. Well two surprises.<\/p>\n<p>The third seed from prelims, <strong>Giulio Burgnoni,<\/strong> surged in the final, using the fastest final 50 to clock in at 46.77 and earn the Delta State senior the victory. <strong>Tim Stollings,<\/strong> the 100 fly champ, was second, while 200 IM champ <strong>Emanuel Fava<\/strong> and Drury\u2019s <strong>Nathan Bighetti<\/strong> tied for third in 47.07.<\/p>\n<p>The second surprise? The fastest time of the whole shebang came from the B final: <strong>Karol Ostrowski,<\/strong> who failed to make the A final with a lackluster swim this morning, vented his anger with a 46.55, the quickest in the evening. Second was IUPs Mikesell, the fastest seed this morning by nearly a second who still cut time to 1:58.92.
