One night after making her competitive return with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/tyr-pro-swim-series-katie-ledecky-returns-to-competition-with-strong-effort-in-1500-freestyle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">win in the 1500 freestyle<\/a>, Ledecky claimed a comfortable triumph in the 400 freestyle at the TYR Pro Series stop in San Antonio. Ledecky stopped the clock in 4:05.00, which was slightly off her prelim time of 4:04.72, but having two performances in that range in early March is a good sign for the reigning Olympic champion.<\/p>\n<p>Following her race, Ledecky talked about the process of returning to racing and seeing some familiar faces on the deck who she hasn&#8217;t seen due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nonetheless, Ledecky still managed to produce quality times, including her mark in the final that provided a 2.41-second decision over fellow Team USA member <strong>Leah Smith<\/strong> (4:07.41).<\/p>\n<p>Ledecky has not eased back into racing, but instead has taken on a full program through the first two days of the meet. In addition to winning the 1500 free and 400 free, Ledecky went sub-55 in the 100 freestyle to place third in that event. Following Smith to the wall was <strong>Emma Weyant<\/strong> in 4:09.22.
