Michigan leads the team rankings through the swimming events and the 1m diving that was completed last week, although Ohio State has a lot of diving points going their way. DeLakis won Ohio State&#8217;s second straight title in the event after\u00a0<strong>Andrew Loy\u00a0<\/strong>won last year.<\/p>\n<p>Ohio State is trying to win its first conference title since 2010 in its home pool as the Buckeyes have a lot of diving points on their side. Indiana&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Van Mathias\u00a0<\/strong>finished in second at 1:43.61, ahead of Wisconsin&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Wesley Jekel\u00a0<\/strong>(1:43.78).<\/p>\n<p>Jekel took it out fast with a 46.38 on the front 100, as he looked to try to steal the race from the start, but he felt the pain coming home, splitting a 26.4 on freestyle. Jekel&#8217;s teammate\u00a0<strong>Caleb Aman\u00a0<\/strong>(1:44.37) finished sixth overall.<\/p>\n<p>Michigan picked up big points from\u00a0<strong>Jared Daigle\u00a0<\/strong>(1:43.99), who moved up from eighth to fourth as the Wolverines are trying to repeat as team champions.<\/p>\n<p>Purdue&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Trent Pellini\u00a0<\/strong>(1:44.21),\u00a0<strong>Nicholas Sherman <\/strong>(1:44.40) and Indiana&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jacob Steele\u00a0<\/strong>(1:44.44) also swam in the championship final.<\/p>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A terrific, terrific start for the Buckeyes Wednesday evening at the Big Ten swimming championships; Senior Paul Delakis, the runner-up last year, wins the 200 individual medley in a personal-best time of 1:41.71. Andreis was the top seed coming into finals and will certainly make Ohio State a force in the 200 free relay on Friday night as he was joined in the final by\u00a0<strong>Hunter Armstrong\u00a0<\/strong>(19.19) who moved up from sixth to fourth. Those two helped the Wolverines pick up big points with a 1-2 finish as\u00a0<strong>Will Roberts\u00a0<\/strong>finished in seventh at 4:20.16. The Wolverines have now won 26 of the last 29 Big Ten titles in the 500 freestyle.<\/p>\n<p>Ohio State&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Charlie Clark\u00a0<\/strong>finished in fourth at 4:17.74 as he picked up valuable points for the Buckeyes who will utilize their strong diving points to try and win the team title.<\/p>\n<p>Wisconsin&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Josh Dannhauser<\/strong>, who transferred from Auburn, placed third at 4:16.50 while Indiana&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mikey Calvillo\u00a0<\/strong>(4:18.01),\u00a0<strong>Michael Brinegar\u00a0<\/strong>(4:19.70) and Northwestern&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Connor Lamastra\u00a0<\/strong>(4:20.23) rounded out the A-final.<\/p>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">WATCH: For those of you who love <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/MichiganDistance?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#MichiganDistance<\/a>, you&#39;ll want to see this. The team of\u00a0<strong>Gabriel Fantoni\u00a0<\/strong>(45.26),\u00a0<strong>Zane Backes\u00a0<\/strong>(50.85),\u00a0<strong>Brendan Burns\u00a0<\/strong>(44.79) and\u00a0<strong>Jack Franzman\u00a0<\/strong>(41.67) put up the second fastest relay in the nation this year behind only Texas and ahead of Florida and California. Indiana has now won six straight Big Ten titles in the 400 medley relay.<\/p>\n<p>The Hoosiers were in separate heats from their rivals Michigan and Ohio State as the Wolverines finished second overall at 3:03.16 with the team of\u00a0<strong>Wyatt Davis\u00a0<\/strong>(45.68),\u00a0<strong>William Chan\u00a0<\/strong>(50.65),\u00a0<strong>River Wright\u00a0<\/strong>(44.85) and\u00a0<strong>Gus Borges\u00a0<\/strong>(41.98) as they are now sixth nationally ahead of NCAAs in three weeks. The Buckeyes were third from heat one at 3:03.17 with the team of\u00a0<strong>Hunter Armstrong\u00a0<\/strong>(44.92),\u00a0<strong>Hudson McDaniel\u00a0<\/strong>(50.85),\u00a0<strong>Semi Anreis\u00a0<\/strong>(45.47) and\u00a0<strong>Paul Delakis\u00a0<\/strong>(41.93).<\/p>\n<p>The quickest splits outside the top three came from Penn State&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Michael Daly\u00a0<\/strong>(46.07), Minnesota&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Max McHugh\u00a0<\/strong>(50.09), Wisconsin&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Erik Gessner\u00a0<\/strong>(45.40) and Purdue&#8217;s <strong>Nikola
