The heats of the 500 free, 200 IM and 50 free are this morning.<\/p>\n<h3>500 Free<\/h3>\n<p>Arizona&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Brooks Fail\u00a0<\/strong>is leading a strong field in the heats of the 500 free with a 4:13.81 this morning in Houston. Fail will have lane four in tonight&#8217;s final with Cal seniors <strong>Trenton Julian\u00a0<\/strong>(4:14.54) and\u00a0<strong>Zach Yeadon\u00a0<\/strong>(4:14.59) surrounding him. It should take around a sub-4:10 to win tonight&#8217;s final as five of the guys in the field have reached the A-Final at NCAAs in years past. He is leading a trio of Stanford guys with\u00a0<strong>Alex Liang\u00a0<\/strong>(1:43.24),\u00a0<strong>Jonny Affeld<\/strong> (1:43.42) and <strong>Shane Blinkman\u00a0<\/strong>(1:43.53) as Cal and Stanford each have six A-finalists this morning.<\/p>\n<p>Arizona showed out well this morning with three Wildcats advancing to the final with\u00a0<strong>David Schlicht\u00a0<\/strong>(1:43.68),\u00a0<strong>Sam Iida\u00a0<\/strong>(1:43.78) and <strong>Ogi Maric <\/strong>(1:44.52) all advancing. In fact, the top three in the nation currently are all freshman as Florida&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Adam Chaney\u00a0<\/strong>is leading the country with an 18.7.<\/p>\n<p>Defending national champ\u00a0<strong>Ryan Hoffer\u00a0<\/strong>was a 19.00 in the heats as he is unshaved and should be saving a full rest for NCAAs in 23 days. Fellow Golden Bear\u00a0<strong>Nate Biondi\u00a0<\/strong>(19.87) made it into the final in eighth.<\/p>\n<p>All five schools will have a representative in the A-Final as Arizona&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Marin Ercegovic\u00a0<\/strong>(19.45) is seeded third, while USC&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nikola Miljenic\u00a0<\/strong>(19.47) is fourth and Utah&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cooper Deryk\u00a0<\/strong>is fifth (19.64).
