Comcast will also equip 20 community centers and parks and recreation facilities in Oakland with WiFi for the next three years as part of its Lift Zones initiative.<\/p>\n<p>Manuel met with kids virtually on Thursday as <a href=\"https:\/\/olympics.nbcsports.com\/2021\/02\/26\/simone-manuel-comcast-students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">part of a special event<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">We had a great day <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OaklandOPR?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@OaklandOPR<\/a>. I\u2019m pleased to partner with Comcast to bring awareness to this important issue and help close the digital divide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe COVID-19 pandemic has shed light on many inequities in our society including the digital divide.
