NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Junior National qualifier\u00a0Isabella Urlando\u00a0<\/strong>of Sacramento, Calif. has decided to remain in-state for her college career after verbally committing to the University of California, Santa Barbara beginning in the fall of 2022.<\/p>\n

She will join\u00a0Alyssa Lund<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Vivian Mudry<\/strong><\/a>, Olivia Hovorka<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Nina Statler<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as members of the Gauchos\u2019 Class of 2026.<\/p>\n

Her older brother,\u00a0Luca Urlando<\/strong><\/a>, is currently a freshman at Georgia.<\/p>\n

Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at UCSB!\u00a0 Thank you to my coaches, teachers, and family who have supported me. I can\u2019t wait to be part of this incredible team! Go Gauchos!!!\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Urlando, who trains year-round with DART Swimming, earned a pair of best times at College Station Sectionals last February and won the 100 back at the Neptune Holiday Classic in December 2019. In August 2019, she raced three events at Mount Hood Futures.<\/p>\n
