She also put in a crucial anchor leg in the 400 free relay to clinch the victory.<\/p>\n<p><b>Male Athlete of the Week: Sean Piner, Louisville<\/b><br \/>\nDuring the dual meet versus Cincinnati, Piner scored 267.35 points in winning the 1-meter springboard event and 326.75 points on the 3-meter springboard. In showing off his dominance, Piner won the 1-meter event by 30 points.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/media\/Atlantic10.jpg\" style=\"float:left; margin:6px;\" \/><b>Atlantic 10<br \/>\nMale Swimmer of the Week: Michael Glenn, Massachusetts<\/b><br \/>\nGlenn swept the breaststroke events at the Rhode Island Invitational, posting a 59.03 in the 100 and 2:08.88 in the 200. He also won the 400 IM with a 4:08.40.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Swimmer of the Week: Mali Kobelja, Richmond<\/b><br \/>\nDespite losing the dual meet to William &#038; Mary, Kobelja posted victories in the 100 breast and 200 IM, as well as a third-place finish in the 100 fly.<\/p>\n<p><b>Male Rookie of the Week: Liam Huffman, George Washington<\/b><br \/>\nHuffman showed off his freestyle range with a win in the 1000 free at the Rhode Island Invitational, along with a runner-up finish in the 500 free and a part of the winning 400 free relay.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Rookie of the Week: Irina Chiullli, Richmond<\/b><br \/>\nThe freshman scored 294.67 points in winning the 3-meter diving event in the dual meet against William &#038; Mary. In addition to winning the 50 and 100 freestyles, Heck was a key component in North Carolina\u2019s winning 200 medley relay and 400 free relay.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Swimmer of the Week: Emma Reaney, Notre Dame<\/b><br \/>\nReaney continued her impressive season with notable swims in the quad meet against Michigan, Rutgers and Northwestern. She won the 100 breast with a 1:00.44, 2:14.09 in the 200 breast and 54.92 in the 100 fly. She also helped Notre Dame win the 400 free relay.<\/p>\n<p><b>Male Diver of the Week: Nick McCrory, Duke<\/b><br \/>\nMcCrory continues to roar through his senior season, sweeping the diving events in the dual meet against South Carolina. His scores of 379.27 on 1-meter and 435.38 on 3-meter rank high in the national collegiate ranks.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Diver of the Week: Kelly Corish, North Carolina<\/b><br \/>\nCorish won both diving events in the dual meet against Navy. She qualified for the NCAA zone championships in both events, posting a score of 265.20 on the 1-meter and 280.28 on 3-meter.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/media\/Big10.jpg\" style=\"float:left; margin:6px;\" \/><b>Big 10<br \/>\n<b>Male Swimmer of the Week: Dylan Bosch, Michigan<\/b><br \/>\nThe South African won five events and placed in the top three in two others in two meets last week. He won both butterflys and the 200 IM in the dual meet against Northwestern, and finished second in the 200 breast and third in the 400 IM during the dual meet against Purdue.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Swimmers of the Week: Carly Mercer, Purdue, and Ivy Martin, Wisconsin<\/b><br \/>\nPurdue\u2019s victory over Michigan last week was buoyed by Mercer\u2019s wins in the 50 and 100 freestyles, as well as her contributions in the winning 200 medley relay and 400 free relay. In Wisconsin\u2019s dual meet against Southern California, Martin won the 50 free and was second in the 100 free.<\/p>\n<p><b>Male Diver of the Week: Jamie Bissett, Purdue<\/b><br \/>\nBissett won the 1-meter diving competitions last week in dual meets against Michigan and Michigan State. His best performance was a score of 366.53 in the meet against Michigan. He also won the 3-meter event against Michigan State with 388.80 points.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Diver of the Week: Michelle Cabassol, Purdue<\/b><br \/>\nAgainst Michigan State, Cabassol took both diving events and was second on both in the dual meet against Michigan.<\/p>\n<p><b>Male Freshman of the Week: Daryl Turner, Minnesota<\/b><br \/>\nTurner won the 100 back and 100 free last week as the Gophers won the dual meet against Hawaii to continue to impress in his debut season.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Freshman of the Week: Meagan Lim, Purdue<\/b><br \/>\nLim wins her second-straight weekly honor from the Big 10 as she won both butterfly events against Michigan State, as well as the 100 fly against Michigan. She powered to the win in the 100 fly against the Wolverines with a time of 54.95.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/media\/Big12.jpg\" style=\"float:left; margin:6px;\" \/><b>Big 12<br \/>\nMale Swimmer of the Week: Cooper Robinson, Texas Christian<\/b><br \/>\nThough he was unable to win any events in last month\u2019s two-day dual meet against Missouri State, Robinson was the top finisher for TCU, placing second in the 50 and 200 backstroke, as well as third in the 100 back and 200 IM.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Swimmer of the Week: Imelda Wistey, Iowa State<\/b><br \/>\nThe senior broke three team records in last month\u2019s dual meet against Iowa, breaking her own mark in the 100 breast with a 1:00.46. She also swam a 2:13.79 in the 200 breast to set another school record, and swam breaststroke on the record-setting 200 medley relay.<\/p>\n<p><b>Men\u2019s Diver of the Week: Cory Bowersox, Texas<\/b><br \/>\nBowersox claimed second in the overall point standings last month at the USA Diving winter nationals, placing in the top five in two events.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Diver of the Week: Maren Taylor, Texas<\/b><br \/>\nTaylor won the 3-meter springboard event at the USA Diving nationals with a score of 923.90 points. She also notched a victory in the synchro 3-meter event at nationals before returning to Texas and sweep both diving events against Stanford.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/media\/Colonial.jpg\" style=\"float:left; margin:6px;\" \/><b>Colonial Athletic Association<br \/>\nMale Swimmer of the Week: Billy Russell, William &#038; Mary<\/b><br \/>\nRussell had a good meet against Davidson, posting a 20.81 to win the 50 free, as well as a 51.36 to capture the 100 fly. His time in the 50 free is the second-fastest among swimmers this season in the CAA conference.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Swimmer of the Week: Megan Howard, William &#038; Mary<\/b><br \/>\nHoward had an undefeated week of competition with six events in dual meets against Davidson and Richmond. She won the 50 and 100 freestyles, as well as the 100 backstroke last week, in addition to three relay victories. Her time of 57.76 in the 100 back was a personal best.<\/p>\n<p><b>Male Diver of the Week: Alex Cohen, Towson<\/b><br \/>\nThe senior posted new school records in the 1-meter and 3-meter events last week in the dual meet against George Mason. Cohen scored 308.85 on the 1-meter springboard and 339.83 on the 3-meter to win both.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Diver of the Week: Madison Kramer, Drexel<\/b><br \/>\nKramer notched her highest scores of the season during the dual meet against Maryland, earning 294.45 on the 1-meter and 296.10 on the 3-meter springboard.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/media\/ConferenceUSA.jpg\" style=\"float:left; margin:6px;\" \/><b>Conference USA<br \/>\nFemale Swimmer of the Week: Courtney VanderSchaaf, Florida International<\/b><br \/>\nIn racing Central Connecticut State last weekend, VanderSchaaf won the 50 and 100 freestyles to help FIU beat Central Connecticut State.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Diver of the Week: Sabrina Beaupre, Florida International<\/b><br \/>\nIn her final home dual meet of her collegiate career, Beaupre broke the school record in the 1-meter springboard event with 335.85 points. She returned to score 330.67 points to win the 3-meter event.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/media\/Horizon.jpg\" style=\"float:left; margin:6px;\" \/><b>Horizon League<br \/>\nMale Swimmer of the Week: Kei Ishimaru, Illinois-Chicago<\/b><br \/>\nWith wins in the 100 fly, 200 fly and 200 IM, Ishimaru was the top point scorer for Illinois-Chicago in their dual meet loss to Green Bay last week.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Swimmer of the Week: Parker Wolf, Green Bay<\/b><br \/>\nIn addition to helping Green Bay win both relays, Wolf notched victories in the 50 and 100 freestyles.<\/p>\n<p><b>Male Diver of the Week: Mark Ciesielski, Illinois-Chicago<\/b><br \/>\nCiesielski won the 3-meter event with 281.32 points and placed second on the 1-meter springboard in the dual meet loss to Green Bay.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Diver of the Week: Whitney Johnson, Illinois-Chicago<\/b><br \/>\nJohnson also won the 3-meter event against Green Bay with 264.97 points and was the runner-up in the 1-meter event.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/media\/MidAmerican.jpg\" style=\"float:left; margin:6px;\" \/><b>Mid-American<br \/>\nMale Swimmer of the Week: Cole Bateman, Eastern Michigan<\/b><br \/>\nThe freshman led off the winning 200 medley relay then went on to win the 100 and 200 back, clocking in at 51.53 and 1:52.24, respectively, in the dual meet against Denison.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Swimmer of the Week: Jessie Godlewski, Eastern Michigan<\/b><br \/>\nThree individual event victories by Godlewski in the dual against Denison included the 200 fly (2:04.85), 200 back (2:07.49) and 200 IM (2:09.09).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/media\/NorthCoast.jpg\" style=\"float:left; margin:6px;\" \/><b>North Coast<br \/>\nMale Athlete of the Week: Blake Lehmann, Depauw<\/b><br \/>\nAt the Washington University Invitational, Lehmann was very busy, placing in the top three in three individual events and helping DePauw win the 200 free relay and 400 free relay. Lehmann won the 50 free with a 21.58, and placed second in the 100 free and third in the 100 fly.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Athlete of the Week: Emily Capone, Allegheny<\/b><br \/>\nThe diver earned a couple of NCAA zone qualifying standards last week in the dual meet loss to Oberlin. She won the 3-meter with 286.90 points and the 1-meter with 294.30 points.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/media\/Pac12.jpg\" style=\"float:left; margin:6px;\" \/><b>Pac 12<br \/>\nMale Swimmer of the Month: Kevin Cordes, Arizona<\/b><br \/>\nAn American record in the 100-yard breaststroke (50.70) at the Texas Invite in early December earned Cordes another conference honor. The junior also made a run at his American record in the 200 breast, falling short with a still-impressive 1:49.38. The Pac 12 also cited Cordes\u2019 contributions in the Duel in the Pool for the monthly honor, where he set American records in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Swimmer of the Month: Missy Franklin, California<\/b><br \/>\nFranklin won the 200 freestyle and 100 backstrokes at the USA Swimming nationals last month, and broke school records in the 200 and 500 freestyles. Her 200 freestyle time of 1:41.40 was a lifetime best for the freshman.<\/p>\n<p><b>Male Diver of the Month: Connor Kuremsky, Stanford<\/b><br \/>\nThe junior finished third in the 1-meter springboard at the USA Diving nationals with a score of 692.40 and also placed eighth in the synchro 3-meter event.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/media\/Presidents.jpg\" style=\"float:left; margin:6px;\" \/><b>President\u2019s Athletic Conference<br \/>\nMale Athlete of the Week: Jake Pletz, Westminster<\/b><br \/>\nWestminster remains undefeated, with Pletz scoring wins in the 100 and 200 freestyles last week in the victory against Division II team Rollins.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Athlete of the Week: Lauren Cassano, Grove City<\/b><br \/>\nAs Grove City defeated William &#038; Jefferson in last week\u2019s dual meet, Cassano was racking up wins in the 100 and 200 backstrokes, as well as the 200 medley relay.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/media\/SEClogo.jpg\" style=\"float:left; margin:6px;\" \/><b>Southeastern Conference<br \/>\nMale Swimmer of the Week: Sean Lehane, Tennessee<\/b><br \/>\nDuring the tri-meet with Missouri and Virginia Tech, Lehane posted a lifetime best 1:51.34 in winning the 200 IM, as well as a 1:44.84 in the 200 back, which was a season-best time for the sophomore.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Swimmer of the Week: Melanie Margalis, Georgia<\/b><br \/>\nIn a two-day road trip through Texas, Margalis won the 200 back and 400 IM in the meet against Texas A&#038;M, then took the 100 breast and 200 IM against Texas. Her time of 1:55.99 in the 200 back is her best of the season.<\/p>\n<p><b>Male Diver of the Week: Sean McKinney, LSU<\/b><br \/>\nMcKinney posted a school record score of 425.70 in winning the 3-meter springboard event against Oklahoma Baptist, beating a record he had set just last month. He also placed in the top three in both diving events against SMU.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Diver of the Week: Laura Ryan, Georgia<\/b><br \/>\nThis is the second consecutive conference honor for Ryan, who helped Georgia greatly on the Texas road trip. She won both diving events at both meets, with her best performances coming against Texas. She scored 319.58 on the 1-meter and 375.08 on the 3-meter.<\/p>\n<p><b>Male Freshmen of the Week: Taylor Dale, Georgia, and Joe Patching, Auburn<\/b><br \/>\nDale won the 100 backstrokes at both meets against Texas A&#038;M and Texas. His top time of the weekend was 48.34. Patching won the 100 back in Auburn\u2019s meet against Texas, posting a 48.09.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Freshman of the Week: Heather Lundstrom, Tennessee<\/b><br \/>\nLundstrom\u2019s win in the 200 butterfly was one of the highlights for Tennessee\u2019s win against Missouri and Virginia Tech. She was also a top-three placer in the 100 fly, and swam exhibition in the 200 IM, posting the third-fastest time in the race.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/media\/Summit.jpg\" style=\"float:left; margin:6px;\" \/><b>Summit League<br \/>\nMale Swimmer of the Week: Colin Krysl, South Dakota<\/b><br \/>\nKrysl won three individual events against South Dakota State last weekend. He won both butterfly races with times of 51.78 and 1:54.55, and took the 200 IM with a 1:59.36.<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Swimmer of the Week: Margaret Barber, IUPUI<\/b><br \/>\nBarber won four individual events last week while racing Ball State, Xavier, St. Louis and Western Illinois. She won the 500 free (5:10.71) and 1000 free (10:37.89) against Ball State and Xavier, then won the 200 free (1:55.78) and 500 free (5:11.28) against St. Louis and Western Illinois.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/media\/WAClogo.jpg\" style=\"float:left; margin:6px;\" \/><b>Western Athletic Conference<br \/>\nFemale Swimmer of the Week: Hannah Kastigar, Grand Canyon<\/b><br \/>\nKastigar competed in the two-day dual meet against North Dakota last weekend and won five individual events: 400 IM (4:27.01), 100 back (57.49), 200 fly (2:02.07), 200 IM (2:05.43) and 200 back (2:04.30).<\/p>\n<p><b>Female Diver of the Week: Carlee Burks, Bakersfield<\/b><br \/>\nIn last weekend\u2019s quad meet, Burks won both springboard events, earning 256.46 points on the 1-meter and 251.55 on the 3-meter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX, Arizona, January 14. xxxxxxx.
