NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>U.S. Open qualifier\u00a0Gretchen Lueking\u00a0<\/strong>of Carmel, Ind. has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Notre Dame beginning in the fall of 2022.<\/p>\n

She will join\u00a0Mary Codevilla<\/strong><\/a>, Renee Gillilan<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Grace Brenneman<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0as a member of the Fighting Irish\u2019s Class of 2026.<\/p>\n

Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/p>\n

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at the University of Notre Dame. Thank you to my family, friends and coaches who have supported me along the way. Go Irish!\u2618\ufe0f”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A versatile swimmer, Lueking trains year-round with Carmel Swim Club and placed 19th in the 200 free at Juniors East in December 2019. In Summer 2019, she posted four top-18 finishes at Indiana LCM Seniors before going on to race three events at Junior Nationals.<\/p>\n
