Highlighted by pool record from Peyton Palsha<\/strong> and Vanessa Herrmann,<\/strong> Arkansas women\u2019s swimming and diving team scored a 226-74 victory over Kansas Saturday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Palsha clocked in a 9:44.86 to win the 1,000 freestyle, setting an Arkansas pool record. Herrmann added a pool mark in the 100 breaststroke, with a time of 1:00.58. She added a win in the 200 breast.<\/p>\n

Adela Vavrinova<\/strong> picked up wins in the 200 individual medley and 200 butterfly, and Emily Barclay<\/strong> was first in the 50 free and 100 free. Serena Gould<\/strong> was quickest in the 200 free.<\/p>\n

The Razorbacks also went 1-2 in the 400 free relay, the squad of Kobie Melton, Brittney Pike,<\/strong> Barclay and Kenedy Thaman<\/strong> posted a tie of 3:21.28.<\/p>\n

Maha Amer<\/strong> won the three-meter diving event, and Brooke Schultz,<\/strong> who was second in three-meter, won the one-meter event.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am just really excited for the team and for the seniors,\u201d Arkansas coach Neil Harper<\/strong> said. \u201cThey looked like they had fun. I was surprised with how hard we worked this week, how well they responded and how much they made the most of the opportunity. It was a good to get the number of fans and family that we had here. I thought the divers did a great job. We are positive and we are confident, and I cannot ask for more than that. I thought Kenedy, Alyssa (Lemon) and Peyton Palsha did a great job of swimming really well and leading by example today. They had fun, I saw smiles on their faces, it was a big day for them. Peyton breaking the pool record in the 1000 and Vanessa breaking the pool record in the 100 breast, those records are from NCAAs or SECs, so for us to be doing that in the middle of the season is really good. I am so happy for them. I thought the freshman stepped up again and I think they have welcomed the challenge. They have realized they are on a good team and they are helping us build for the future. I love where we are and are looking forward to SECs.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
