Those honored include: <strong>Forrest Brown<\/strong>, <strong>Anna Kirkpatrick<\/strong>, <strong>Mya Kraeger<\/strong>, <strong>Brock Brown<\/strong>, <strong>Griffin Eiber<\/strong>, <strong>Laurel Eiber<\/strong>, <strong>Corey Gambardella<\/strong>, <strong>Mory Gould<\/strong>, <strong>Josie Grote<\/strong>, <strong>Gage Hamill<\/strong>, <strong>Abby Kirkpatrick<\/strong>, <strong>Gary Kostbade<\/strong>, <strong>Bailey Kovac<\/strong>, <strong>Spencer Lehman<\/strong>, <strong>Anne Rouleau<\/strong>, <strong>Seamus Scotty<\/strong>, <strong>Jacob Steele<\/strong> and <strong>Thomas Vanderbrook<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Freshman <strong>Anne Fowler<\/strong> tallied a career-best, NCAA \u2018A\u2019 Standard score of 356.18 in the 1-meter diving event. Her winning score is the fifth highest score ever posted in a six-dive set by a Hoosierwoman diver and she now ranks as the third best performer in IU history in the event.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fowler also toppled the school-record mark set by Olympian <strong>Jessica Parratto<\/strong> in dual meet competition in the 1-meter.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sophomore <strong>Brendan Burns<\/strong> turned in three individual victories and was a member of the 400 Medley Relay team. The Berwyn, Pa., native earned wins in the 100 Fly, 200 Fly and 200 Back.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Redshirt junior <strong>Andrew Capobianco<\/strong> continued his dominated season, picking up two more wins. He is a perfect 4-for-4 in diving events this season after scoring winning NCAA \u2018A\u2019 Standard scores of 417.00 (1M) and 473.55 (3M).<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Hoosier women put on a show in the breaststroke events. In the 200 Breast, sophomore <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/swimming-world-presents-the-emily-weiss-watch-full-feature-story\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Emily Weiss<\/strong><\/a> edged out junior teammate <strong>Noelle Peplowski<\/strong> for the victory. Junior <strong>Mackenzie Looze<\/strong> and senior <strong>Abby Kirkpatrick<\/strong> placed third and fourth, respectively, giving IU the top four point-scoring spots in the events. Weiss, Peplowski and Kirkpatrick also teamed up to claim three of the top four spots in the 100 Breast.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Indiana last met Ohio State in a dual meet format on Jan. 31, 2015 when the Hoosiers traveled to Columbus for a tri-meet with Ohio State and Louisville. The Buckeyes last swam in Bloomington in a regular season meet on Jan. 19, 2013. IU squeaked out a 150-148 victory on the men\u2019s side that afternoon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Ohio State Release<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ohio State was led by <strong>Brynna Wolfe<\/strong>, who picked up a pair of victories in the 100 and 200 backstroke events, respectively. The Hoosiers took the lead for good just before the 1-meter diving competition after previously swapping the lead with the Buckeyes five different times. Notes and highlights of the meet included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Sally Tafuto<\/strong> led an Ohio State sweep in the 1,000, winning in 10:03.12 with <strong>Georgia Mosher<\/strong> and <strong>Maya Geringer<\/strong> finishing in second and third, respectfully. The win was Tafuto\u2019s second of the season, after picking up a victory in the 500 last weekend vs. Penn State.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wolfe led another Top 3 finish for Ohio State in the 100 backstroke by winning in :55.01 with <strong>Amy Fulmer<\/strong> second and <strong>Emily Crane<\/strong> third. The Buckeyes enjoyed a 43-31 lead at this point of the meet.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Indiana came back, though, tying the score at 56-all after the 200 butterfly and eventually building a 92-77 lead after nine events.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Then Wolfe skimmed more than 3.5 seconds off her 200 backstroke time from a week ago to win the event in 2:00.03 with <strong>Kristen Romano<\/strong> third in 2:00.27. The win closed the Buckeyes to within 10 at 99-89 with six events to go.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Hoosiers extended their lead to 117-90 and applied the pressure to the Buckeyes by taking the top four places in the 200 breaststroke, including the second win of the meet for Emily Weiss.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Katie Trace<\/strong> swam to a victory in the 400 individual medley in 4:18.72 with Romano earning Top 3 points for the Buckeyes for the third time this meet with a third-place finish in 4:20.41.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And the 200 freestyle relay team of <strong>Taylor Petrak<\/strong>, <strong>Freya Rayner<\/strong>, Crane and <strong>Katherine Zenick<\/strong> capped the meet with a win in 1:30.79.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Jason Mathews<\/strong> picked up a pair of wins to lead the Buckeye men. Notes and highlights from the pool featured the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Hunter Armstrong<\/strong> swam to victory in the 100 backstroke in :47.06 with <strong>RJ Kondalski<\/strong> third and <strong>Colin McDermott<\/strong> fourth. The efforts shaved nine points of an early IU lead to make it 45-29 after four events.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mathews followed Armstrong\u2019s win in the 100 back with a victory in the 100 breaststroke. <strong>Hudson McDaniel<\/strong> (second) and <strong>Evan McFadden<\/strong> (fourth) also scored in the event and the IU lead was down to five points at 49-44.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Sem Andreis<\/strong> won the 50 freestyle in :19.84 but IU took the next four places to hold on to a 19-point lead, 75-56, nearly midway through the meet.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mathews won his second race of the afternoon by following his 100 breaststroke win with a victory in the 200 breaststroke in 1:57.73.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And <strong>Paul Delakis<\/strong> won for the second consecutive meet by taking first in the 400 individual medley in 3:54.79.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The No. 7\/12 Indiana swimming and diving teams handled business in a sweep of No. 17\/14 Ohio State on Friday afternoon at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatics Center.
