NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill has scored a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2022 from sprinter\u00a0Tyler Roberton\u00a0<\/strong>of Largo, Fla.<\/p>\n

He will join\u00a0Patrick Sleater<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and Tanner Jones<\/a> <\/strong>as a member of the Tar Heels\u2019 Class of 2026.<\/p>\n

Regarding his commitment, he said:<\/p>\n

“I am extremely excited to announce my commitment to swim for the University of North Carolina. I am looking forward to furthering my athletic and academic future at Chapel Hill. I\u2019d like to thank my friends and teammates who have supported me through the years, and my coaches who have helped me pursue my athletic goals. Most importantly, I\u2019d like to thank my family for believing in me throughout this process, encouraging me and helping make this dream come true!!!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Roberton, who does his club swimming with Tampa Bay Aquatics, is a Junior National qualifier who placed ninth in the 100 free at the Florida Spring Championships in 2019. In Summer 2019, he finaled in a pair of events at Gainesville Sectionals before going on to take 22nd in the 100m and 200m free at Greensboro Futures.<\/p>\n
