GO BLUE!\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Also a sprint freestyler, Piersma does her club swimming with the Cincinnati Marlins and most recently competed at the 18&amp;U Winter Championships in Oxford where she earned a best time after racing three events at the Toyota U.S. Open back in November. In Summer 2019, she sprinted to seventh in the 100m free at Cleveland Sectionals.<\/p>\n<p>Piersma will continue the Michigan legacy as she is the daughter of <strong>Rachel Gustin<\/strong> and <strong>John Piersma<\/strong>, who both competed for the Wolverines and were USA National Teamers in the 1990s.<\/p>\n<p>Her best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 free \u2013 23.51<\/li>\n<li>100 free \u2013 50.39<\/li>\n<li>200 free \u2013 1:49.16<\/li>\n<li>500 free \u2013 4:58.39<\/li>\n<li>100 back \u2013 57.32<\/li>\n<li>200 back \u2013 2:05.31<\/li>\n<li>100 fly \u2013 56.75<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Also competing for Seven Hills Upper High School, Piersma is already a four-time individual Ohio State Championship finalist.
