{"id":459174,"date":"2021-01-08T20:41:02","date_gmt":"2021-01-09T03:41:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=459174"},"modified":"2021-01-09T08:10:14","modified_gmt":"2021-01-09T15:10:14","slug":"big-ten-conference-to-host-swimming-diving-championships-at-three-sites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/big-ten-conference-to-host-swimming-diving-championships-at-three-sites\/","title":{"rendered":"Big Ten Conference to Host Swimming &#038; Diving Championships at Three Sites"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Big Ten Conference has officially approved its dates for the 2021 championships, holding the meet across three different sites for the men&#8217;s, women&#8217;s and diving championships, confirmed in an email obtained by <em>Swimming World<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The Big Ten diving championships will be held with both genders from <strong>February 24 &#8211; 27, 2021<\/strong> at <strong>Purdue University<\/strong>, while the women&#8217;s swimming-only championships will be the same weekend at the <strong>University of Minnesota\u00a0<\/strong>and the men&#8217;s swimming-only championships will be <strong>March 3 &#8211; 6<\/strong> at <strong>The <\/strong><strong>Ohio State University<\/strong> pending official confirmation from the OSU administration. Point totals from the diving championships will be added on to the respective men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s championship point totals.<\/p>\n<p>The Big Ten Conference will be holding an abbreviated season that will officially get underway next weekend. Each school will be participating in three conference tri-meets across the next three weekends.<\/p>\n<p>Ohio State is the defending champion in the women&#8217;s swimming and diving championships, while Michigan is the defending champion on the men&#8217;s side, ending Indiana&#8217;s three-year winning streak.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Big Ten Conference Swimming &amp;
