{"id":458601,"date":"2021-01-01T16:09:13","date_gmt":"2021-01-01T23:09:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=458601"},"modified":"2021-01-01T22:01:52","modified_gmt":"2021-01-02T05:01:52","slug":"big-ten-conference-finalizes-spring-semester-dual-meet-schedule","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/big-ten-conference-finalizes-spring-semester-dual-meet-schedule\/","title":{"rendered":"Big Ten Conference Finalizes Spring Semester Dual Meet Schedule"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Big Ten Conference has finalized its swimming and diving dual meet schedule for the 2021 spring semester, in an email obtained by\u00a0<em>Swimming World<\/em>, with each team participating three sets of tri-meets across the three weekends of January 15 &amp; 16, January 22 &amp; 23, and February 5 &amp; 6.<\/p>\n<p><strong>January 15-16<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Michigan, Northwestern at Indiana<\/li>\n<li>Wisconsin, Nebraska at Iowa<\/li>\n<li>Penn State, Rutgers at Ohio State<\/li>\n<li>Michigan State, Illinois at Purdue<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>January 22-23<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ohio State at Indiana<\/li>\n<li>Michigan State, Rutgers at Michigan<\/li>\n<li>Iowa, Penn State at Northwestern<\/li>\n<li>Minnesota, Purdue at Wisconsin<\/li>\n<li>Illinois at Nebraska<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>February 5-6<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ohio State at Michigan<\/li>\n<li>Iowa, Nebraska at Minnesota<\/li>\n<li>Michigan State at Penn State<\/li>\n<li>Indiana, Rutgers at Purdue<\/li>\n<li>Northwestern, Illinois at Wisconsin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There is still no word on if the NCAA championships will proceed as scheduled in March, and whether conference championships will be affected because of this. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/missouri-valley-conference-to-hold-swimming-diving-championships-in-mid-april-dates-not-finalized\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Missouri Valley Conference<\/a> has indicated they will hold a conference championship meet in April, which would likely leave those swimmers out of contention to make NCAAs. Currently, there is no public plan for a Big Ten Conference swimming and diving championship meet. Right now, the Southeastern Conference is scheduled for February 16-20, 2021 at the University of Missouri, although that is likely to change.<\/p>\n<p>The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically affected college sports this school year.
