Andrei Minakov<\/strong> set a European junior short-course 100 fly record of 50.12 as he claimed two silver medals on day two of the Vladimir Salnikov Cup<\/strong> in St Petersburg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Minakov split 23.45\/26.67 to take a sliver of 0.01 off his own mark from 2018 as he took second behind, 0.03 behind Mikhail Vekovishchev<\/strong> who stopped the clock at 50.09.<\/p>\n

The 18-year-old followed that up with second in the 50 free in 21.51 with Ivan Kuzmenko<\/strong> taking the title in 21.31.<\/p>\n

Ilya Shymanovich\u00a0<\/strong>set a new championship record of 56.04 in the 100m breaststroke, the Belarusian having enjoyed a fine few months in the water that saw him claim the world record last weekend as he lowered the mark Adam Peaty had set at the ISL to 55.34.<\/p>\n
The two-time world short-course silver medallist also fired off 25.67 over 50m on Monday, days after he became the third-fastest man in history when he posted 25.39 at the\u00a0Belarusian Championships<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0to sit behind only world record-holder\u00a0Cameron van der Burgh<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Emre Sakci<\/strong>, who holds the European standard.<\/p>\n
Evgenia Chikunova<\/strong> was 0.32 outside her own world junior record as she overhauled Maria Temnikova<\/strong> on the final 50 to win in 2:18.03 to 2:18.07.<\/p>\n
The 16-year-old won the 100br on Monday and returned to the same pool where she set the world junior mark of 2:18.03 on 21 December 2019.<\/p>\n
She led by just 0.01 at 50 before Temnikova overhauled her and built up a 0.42 lead by the 150 mark only for Chikunova to come back with a last 50 of 35.16 to 35.62.<\/p>\n

Ivan Girev<\/strong> held off a fast-finishing Martin Malyutin<\/strong> to add the 200 free title to the 100 he won on Monday.<\/p>\n
Girev held a lead of 0.44 at the 150 mark, a deficit that Malyutin ate into with each stroke only to fall 0.05 short as the 100 champion won in 1:42.56 to 1:42.61.<\/p>\n
Arina Surkova<\/strong> added the 100 free title to her 50fr gold in 52.96 before following it up with a winning time of 25.27 in the 50 fly.<\/p>\n
Anna Chernysheva<\/strong> set a Russian 200IM junior record of 2:10.49, 15-year-old Alexandra Kurilkina\u00a0<\/strong>took the women’s 100 back in 57.65 and Svetlana Chimrova<\/strong> won the 200fly in 2:06.57.<\/p>\n
Anna Egorova<\/strong> touched first in the 400 free in 4:01.09 and\u00a0Nika Godun<\/strong> won the women’s 50 breaststroke in 30.15<\/p>\n
Damien Joly<\/strong> of France led the field in the 1500 free in 14:38.13 and Egor Dolomanov<\/strong> won the 200 back in 1:53.53.<\/p>\n
Daniil Pakhomov<\/strong> won the men’s 100IM in 53.07 and Mark Nikolaev<\/strong> took the 50 back in 23.30.<\/p>\n
