Racing in the 100-meter freestyle, Campbell claimed victory on Saturday in 52.87, with her sister,<strong> Bronte Campbell<\/strong>, placing second in 54.03. <strong>Abbey Webb<\/strong> also dipped under the 55-second mark, going 54.83.<\/p>\n<p>The Campbell sisters are preparing for next year\u2019s Australian Olympic Trials ad the opportunity to race at the Summer Games in <a href=\"https:\/\/tokyo2020.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tokyo<\/a>. To clock sub-53 at this point in the season was a positive sign for Cate Campbell, who was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/cate-campbell-breaks-her-silence-to-shed-to-further-light-on-that-fateful-night-in-rio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sixth in the 2016 Olympic final<\/a>, where her sister finished just out of the medals in fourth place. Among others, the Campbell sisters will be joined by <strong>Emma McKeon<\/strong> in the chase for individual berths to Tokyo in the 100 free.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matthew Wilson<\/strong> also produced a strong performance as he won the 100 breaststroke in 59.95. Wilson is better known for his ability in the 200 breaststroke and it will be interesting to see how fast he can go in that event later in the meet.
