The Texas men swam a 6:07.34 in the 800 free relay with the team of\u00a0<strong>Drew Kibler\u00a0<\/strong>(1:30.57),\u00a0<strong>Coby Carrozza\u00a0<\/strong>(1:32.32),\u00a0<strong>Jake Sannem\u00a0<\/strong>(1:32.24) and\u00a0<strong>Carson Foster\u00a0<\/strong>(1:32.21), missing the NCAA and American record of 6:05.08 that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/2019-ncaa-division-i-mens-swimming-championships-800-free-relay-live-recap\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Longhorns swam at the 2019 NCAAs<\/a> in their home pool.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/results\/pdf\/2020-texas-invite-day-one-day-1-ncaa-college-2020-12-02.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RESULTS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The time for Kibler is faster than his lifetime best of 1:30.83 as he remained seventh all-time with his swim in the 200 freestyle.<\/p>\n<p>The good news for Texas is that none of those four are seniors so the relay could definitely bring the record down further. TCU finished at 6:35.14.<\/p>\n<p>The Texas men also swam a 1:23.58 in the 200 medley relay with\u00a0<strong>Chris Staka\u00a0<\/strong>(21.09),\u00a0<strong>Charlie Scheinfeld\u00a0<\/strong>(23.46),\u00a0<strong>Alvin Jiang\u00a0<\/strong>(20.18) and\u00a0<strong>Daniel Krueger\u00a0<\/strong>(18.85) with the Horned Frogs coming in at 1:28.31. The Longhorns B team had some impressive splits as well from\u00a0<strong>Colter Carman\u00a0<\/strong>(22.53),\u00a0<strong>Andrew Couchon\u00a0<\/strong>(23.73), <strong>Zac Van Zandt\u00a0<\/strong>(20.47) and\u00a0<strong>Luke Bowman\u00a0<\/strong>(18.87). The Texas men now lead the national rankings, just edging out Georgia (1:23.60).<\/p>\n<p>The Texas women swam a 1:35.78 in the medley relay with\u00a0<strong>Julia Cook\u00a0<\/strong>(24.37),\u00a0<strong>Anna Elendt\u00a0<\/strong>(26.93),\u00a0<strong>Olivia Bray\u00a0<\/strong>(22.43) and\u00a0<strong>Bridget Semenuk\u00a0<\/strong>(22.05) as they currently sit second nationally behind Virginia (1:34.35). On the B relay,\u00a0<strong>Grace Cooper\u00a0<\/strong>came home for the Longhorns in a 21.82 while TCU swam a 1:43.17.<\/p>\n<p>The Longhorns also put up a nation leading time in the 800 free relay with a 7:01.69 with the team of\u00a0<strong>Evie Pfeifer\u00a0<\/strong>(1:43.77),\u00a0<strong>Julia Cook\u00a0<\/strong>(1:44.97),\u00a0<strong>Kyla Leibel\u00a0<\/strong>(1:43.98) and\u00a0<strong>Miranda Heckman\u00a0<\/strong>(1:48.97) putting up the nation&#8217;s top time ahead of Georgia (7:03.94).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Texas Longhorns hosted the Texas Invite with just in-state foe TCU with the 200 medley and 800 free relay on Wednesday night.
