Dressel\u2019s American record had been 50.48, set in <a href=\"https:\/\/isl.global\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ISL<\/a> Match 10, then the seventh-fastest in history. Morozov\u2019s record dates to Sept. 28, 2018, set in Eindhoven, Netherlands.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday, Dressel just left the pack behind from the get-go. The Condors took all 37 points in the event to extend their lead.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the session, Caeleb Dressel trimmed .02 off his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/american-swimming-records-short-course-meters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">American record in the 100 free<\/a>, lowering it to 45.20.<\/p>\n<p>Dressel had been 45.22 in last year\u2019s ISL Grand Final. That he\u2019s already quicker in the semifinal this season is an indication that he could be in position for a big Grand Final in season 2. He could chase <strong>Amaury Leveaux\u2019s<\/strong> world record in the event, 44.94 set in 2008. It\u2019s the second-oldest men\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/world-swimming-records-short-course-meters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">short-course world record on the books<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Dressel went out in 21.86 and came back in 23.34. He controlled the race start to finish in a 1-2 for the Cali Condors with <strong>Justin Ress<\/strong> and added 12 points via the jackpot for the leading Condors.<\/p>\n<p>Dressel also went 22.04 in the 50 fly to take second place. That&#8217;s a third American record of the session, trimming .02 off the mark he set at the 2019 Grand Final then tied in Match 10 this season (22.06).
