But his time undercut the 1:55.10 that he posted last November in London to rewrite the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimming.ca\/en\/records\/catalogue\/CAN\/?gender=M&amp;course=SCM&amp;season=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Canadian short-course record<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Finlay Knox\u2019s splits: 25.12, 29.86, 32.26, 26.43<\/p>\n<p>That final 50 vaulted him from sixth at the 150-meter wall to fourth at the finish. He was 1.61 seconds off the pace set by Team Iron\u2019s <strong>Leonardo Santos<\/strong>. Knox\u2019s time improved him from the 17th best time in the league this season to 10th.<\/p>\n<p>Knox\u2019s record was the only Canadian record on the day but not the only close call. A day after <strong>Markus Thormeyer<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/sydney-pickrem-400-im-markus-thormeyer-200-back-lower-canadian-records-in-isl-semi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lowered his mark in the 200 backstroke<\/a>, the Titans\u2019 <strong>Cole Pratt<\/strong> joined him at 1:50 with a 1:50.82. Pratt\u2019s previous ISL best this season was 1:51.95.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kelsey Wog<\/strong> went 2:17.18 in the 200 breast, .05 off her fastest of the year. She remains just behind the Canadian mark of <strong>Annamay Pierse<\/strong> set in 2009 (2:16.83), as all three <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimming.ca\/en\/records\/catalogue\/CAN\/?gender=F&amp;course=SCM&amp;season=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Canadian short-course records<\/a> remain rooted in the super-suit era.<\/p>\n<p>Wog, who won the event four times in the regular season, settled for second behind <strong>Lilly King,<\/strong> 0.39 seconds back.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Finlay Knox of the Toronto Titans went 1:53.67 in the 200 individual medley Sunday to lower his Canadian record.
